"No fear," she'd say as we either relished unexpectedly delicious and new flavor combinations or scraped terrible disasters into the trash bin. Whether a triumph or a misstep, my late mother, Sandra Lynn, insisted that we enjoy the adventure of food and celebrate every trial. It was her passion and freedom to explore without judgment that guided my life, my parenting, my work—and my BBQ—to this day.

Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, I had cooking (and BBQ) in my blood from an early age.

As a recognized marketing professional for my work in sports and entertainment, I’ve had the honor to work on many exciting projects, including being a member of the Miami Super Bowl Host Committee who brought Super Bowl LIV to Miami in 2020. And don't get me wrong, I still dig the buzz of sports and entertainment marketing. But let me tell you, with a little push from family, friends, and my partner Mary Jo—my BBQ passion is turning up the heat on projects like Ultra Music Festival, Super Bowls, the MLS, and even on rising stars like TeqBall, Paddle Tennis, and Pickle Ball.  These events bring the hype, and my BBQs bring flavors that are second to none!

As a Certified Judge for the Kansas City Barbecue Society and member of the Florida Barbecue Association and National Barbecue and Grilling Association, I have a passion and vision for bringing small-batch, craft barbecue to the hands and mouths of hungry flavor devotees everywhere. Look for Bishops Pit Master BBQ (BPMBBQ) on the competition BBQ circuit and on social media for your chance to order and enjoy delicious BBQ.
